Momentum
Empowering young migrant and refugee women for lasting change
Breaking barriers, we champion the access of young migrant and refugee women to vocational training and employment opportunities through the social economy.
Breaking barriers, empowering women
Since 2015, nearly 1 million young migrant and refugee women have entered the European Union, facing integration challenges such as stereotypes, language barriers, limited service knowledge, and a restricted understanding of the value of vocational training. Momentum’s mission is to catalyze impactful social change, creating an environment where migrant and refugee women overcome challenges for meaningful integration. Through dynamic collaboration, our goal is to empower these women to thrive in their new societies.
Strategic alliances for lasting impact
Momentum, a 2-year project spanning January 2022 to December 2023 and funded by the EU’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF), unites stakeholders—civil society organizations, governmental and non-governmental entities, employment centers, educational institutions, and social economy organizations. Embracing inclusivity, the aim is to provide integrated services of local language, vocational training, and employment support to Third-Country National (TCN) women through a targeted and empathetic approach. Momentum forges strategic alliances with local stakeholders across five EU countries—Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Hungary—aiming for a holistic and sustainable societal impact.
