In partnership with Bank of America, Climate Solutions Lab is a programme aimed at enabling cities to identify their climate action priorities and connect them with innovators capable of addressing them.
Empowering cities to combat climate change
The effects of climate change are no longer a distant concern—they are tangible realities, with impacts already being felt and certain to worsen without swift action. Now is the time for cities to adapt and innovate, preparing for the challenges of tomorrow before they escalate further.
With over 19 years of experience and expertise, the Impact Hub Network is ideally positioned to assist cities in identifying, sourcing, and selecting solutions to bolster their climate action agendas. Through dedicated support, we aim to transform cities of today into resilient, future-proof communities.
Urgency of climate action
In recognition of this imperative, Bank of America and Impact Hub Network launched an innovative programme aimed at equipping cities and communities with solutions to tackle the challenges of climate change head-on.
As part of the ongoing collaboration, the Climate Solutions Lab 2023 was rolled out in three key cities across the Asia Pacific region: Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei.
The programme identified, selected, and supported innovative ideas to address the climate challenges identified through the Climate Risk & Vulnerability Assessment conducted in partnership with CDP.
Key components
Climate risk & vulnerability assessments
We conducted city-level Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessments in partnership with CDP and validated the findings and climate action challenges with city officials, identifying areas ripe for innovation.
Solutions outreach & local showcases
Leveraging our networks, Impact Hubs launched an outreach campaign to source promising ideas that align with the identified climate action challenges. Shortlisted innovators showcased their solutions in their respective cities and to key stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
Expert support
Selected participants received grant funding and gained access to a pool of mentors from our network, providing invaluable guidance and support in piloting their solutions.
Regional showcase
The culmination of the programme witnessed Impact Hubs present the solutions in their respective cities. Innovators with winning solutions presented their ideas to investors, strategic partners, and the public, with the aim of creating greater exposure and awareness on a national and regional scale in the Asia Pacific region.
