Transforming the European Wine Industry
Women represent a significant share of Europe’s wine workforce. Yet harassment, unsafe working conditions, and discriminatory practices remain widespread and often underreported.
Grapes of Change aims to engage, inform and transform, helping companies adopt inclusive policies that benefit workers and strengthen the industry as a whole.
Our collaborative network brings together 14 organisations spanning Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Greece, Hungary, and Poland to create strategies that address both individual and workplace-level challenges.
Our role
Impact Hub contributes to Grapes of Change by supporting collaboration and knowledge exchange across the wine sector and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Europe.
Through the Impact Hub network, we help connect SMEs, experts, and support organisations, facilitate learning activities, training, share practical tools and best practices that help businesses prevent gender-based violence and build safer and more inclusive workplaces.
How it works
Grapes of Change addresses gender-based violence and discrimination through a combination of data, awareness, and capacity building across the European wine sector.
Gender-Based Violence Observatory
The project’s flagship innovation is a sector-focused Observatory that monitors gender-based violence in the wine industry, collecting and analysing data on cases, patterns, and impacts of violence and discrimination while ensuring strict privacy compliance.
Digital learning tools
The initiative will develop interactive digital resources to raise awareness and improve understanding of gender equality, including serious games and gamification elements.
Training programs
The project will deliver targeted training programmes focused on individual empowerment and organizational capacity building, strengthening the capacities of company managers and sector trainers to apply new tools and policies effectively.
