IMPACT NUMBERS · BUSINESSES
Impact entrepreneurship
builds stronger businesses.
When more people can build and lead businesses, more ideas can grow and create opportunities. In 2025–2026, Impact Hubs supported entrepreneurs across the Network. These figures show the scale of that work, alongside investment raised, jobs created and new ventures launched.
Investment raised by impact enterprises

IMPACT NUMBERS · PEOPLE & PLANET
Stronger businesses create value for people and planet.
As impact enterprises grow, the value they create extends beyond the business itself. Here is a snapshot from three of the many themes our enterprises work on.
ENVIRONMENT & CIRCULARITY
Protecting the resources we all need.
tonnes of CO₂eq avoided or sequestered
Roughly the emissions of 162,000 cars driven continuously for one year
Enough to fill 1,700 Olympic-sized swimming pools
Equivalent to nearly four times the size of Paris
FOOD & AGRICULTURE
Feeding more people, and wasting less.
This could feed about the entire population of Zurich
Equivalent to €100 extra a month for 9,000+ farmers, for a full year.
Billions of meals kept from going to waste
HEALTH
Bringing care closer to the people who need it.
Nearly the entire population of Amsterdam
Strengthening local health systems communities rely on.

IMPACT PARTNERSHIPS · TRENDS
Four shifts reshaping
the impact sector.
Funding is tightening, needs are growing and expectations of local delivery are rising. Lasting impact now comes from combining forces, so every contribution goes further.
01 SHARED ACTION
Resources are shrinking,
but the challenges are not.
23.1%
Official development assistance fell in 2025, the largest annual decline on record.
WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER
Shrinking budgets make coordination more important. Together, we can bring the right actors around one clear issue, align resources behind shared outcomes and build the capacity needed for progress to last.
Source: OECD, preliminary 2025 ODA data, 2026.
Local organisations are closest to the challenge, but still receive too little funding.
8.7%
Of reported humanitarian funding went to local and national actors in 2025, directly or through intermediaries.
Every €100 of humanitarian funding
€91.30 to everyone else
WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER
Lasting change starts with the people closest to the challenge. Because every Impact Hub is locally owned, partnering with us keeps more of every euro with local entrepreneurs and their communities. Together, we can put multi-year funding behind community-defined priorities and give teams on the ground the resources and space to lead.

Resilient businesses depend on people, not just products.
Nearly 1 in 5
major supply-chain disruptions are linked to social issues. That’s 18% of more than 180,000 events tracked between January 2023 and October 2025.
WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER
When suppliers and the communities around them are strong, supply chains are more stable. Together, we can work with companies, suppliers and entrepreneurs to strengthen local suppliers and open opportunities for inclusive sourcing, reducing risk while delivering on sustainability goals.

04 ACCESS TO FINANCE
Entrepreneurs need support to access the capital they need to grow.
55%
of social enterprises surveyed in Africa cite lack of access to finance as a barrier, more than any other challenge they face.
WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER
Many ventures have strong potential but aren’t yet investment-ready, or can’t reach the right funders. Through our Impact Hubs, we can work with partners to prepare entrepreneurs for investment, connect them with suitable funders, and strengthen the networks and market access that help them grow.

IMPACT PARTNERSHIPS · CASE STUDIES
What partnership with the Network looks like.
We work with entrepreneurs, companies and donors to design programmes and innovation journeys, deliver them through locally rooted Impact Hubs, and measure the results. Explore highlights from 501 programmes delivered in 2025–2026.
01 Inclusive Entrepreneurship
AFRICA & MIDDLE EAST, ASIA & LATIN AMERICA
Bayer Foundation Women Entrepreneurs Award
Backing women founders building health and food solutions across the Global South. When women-led ventures get capital, visibility and the right connections, their solutions reach millions of people.
Since 2024, Impact Hub Network has delivered the Bayer Foundation Women Entrepreneurs Award, backing women founders building health and food security solutions across Africa and the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
Impact Hubs in all three regions scout founders locally and help select the strongest applicants. ELEVATE
Rebuilding pathways to entrepreneurship for people with disabilities across Southeast Asia. When ecosystems are designed with inclusion in mind, a wider pool of talent and ideas opens up for everyone.
Many entrepreneurship ecosystems exclude people with disabilities through overlooked design in physical spaces, digital platforms and support programmes. ELEVATE exists to include people with disabilities to redesign these systems.
Building on Towards Inclusive Access and BEAM, ELEVATE works with local ecosystem partners across four cities in Southeast Asia to improve physical spaces, make digital tools accessible and redesign support programmes. The programme creates community-centred accessible spaces for gathering, listening and collaboration, connecting entrepreneurs with disabilities to innovators, partners and changemakers across Asia Pacific.

02 Sustainable Ecosystems
LATIN AMERICA
AXES
Opening new markets for sustainable agrifood businesses in rural Colombia and Costa Rica. Every new buyer reached means more income for farms, families and communities.
For smaller agrifood businesses, reaching new buyers takes more than a good product. Entrepreneurs need to understand market requirements, strengthen sustainable practices and build the capabilities and connections to compete. AXES addresses these barriers in Colombia and Costa Rica, with a focus on rural businesses and sustainable, deforestation-free supply chains.
Implemented by Impact Hub Association together with Impact Hub Medellín and Impact Hub San José, the programme combines tailored acceleration with practical bootcamp training. Businesses receive support to navigate sustainability requirements, strengthen commercial readiness and connect with wider market opportunities. A market-access toolkit brings the programme’s learning together for entrepreneurs and the organisations supporting them.

Roots of Circularity
Advancing Circular Economy practices across entrepreneurship, education, policy development, and public awareness in Nepal. What used to end up in landfills is being turned into new products, jobs and income.
A circular economy in Nepal needs supportive policies and people with the knowledge to put circular thinking into practice. Businesses need customers who understand the value of what they offer. Roots of Circularity works across these connected conditions to make circular practices more widely adopted. Running from 2023 to 2027, the programme supports startups and small businesses in Bagmati and Lumbini Provinces with training and to develop circular business models. Its wider work brings circular economy principles into school and university curricula, connects organisations to advocate for supportive policy, and engages the media to build public understanding. Impact Hub Kathmandu leads the entrepreneurship work, collaborating with Impact Hub Association and Wildlife Conservation Nepal across the programme.

03 Measuring Impact
EUROPE
The future of impact measurement
Turning real stories into evidence of change. Netflix Creative Equity and Voices of Impact centres impact measurement on people’s lived experiences, enabling organisations to understand what changes for participants and use those insights to improve their programmes.
Understanding impact starts with the people a programme is designed to serve. Their experiences reveal whether support is making a difference and where it needs to change. Work with Netflix Creative Equity brings these perspectives into programme evaluation, building a clearer picture of outcomes for participants.
Voices of Impact explores how AI can make this approach possible at scale. Developed by leonardo with the Technical University of Munich, Impact Hub Trento and Impact Hub Network, the EU-funded initiative analyses stakeholder feedback to identify patterns and outcomes across people’s experiences.
These efforts make measurement more useful for learning, giving organisations and funders evidence to improve programmes and inform future decisions.

HOW TO READ THESE NUMBERS
This report compiles data from several key sources within the Impact Hub Network. These sources collectively inform the network’s performance metrics, programme impact, and community engagement on a global scale.
Extrapolations are based on GCS responses and scaled up to the wider community through outlier capping, estimation of the population represented by each question, extrapolation of observed responses to the non-respondent population, and conservative discounting of the extrapolated contribution.
Global Community Survey: Insights are drawn from 2,137 responses provided by community members across the network, offering a comprehensive view of member experiences and needs.
Programmes Directory: This dataset includes information from 501 programmes conducted within 102 Impact Hubs.
If you have any questions or comments on the data, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Impact Intelligence team at [email protected]t.
