Impact Hub: Impact Measurement Lead – Maternity Cover 

We are looking for an Impact Measurement Lead to join our global team. The Impact Measurement Lead role (0.8-1 FTE) will design impact measurement frameworks for selected entrepreneur support programs, develop data collection tools, drive monitoring, and prepare insights and reports for the team and a variety of partners from the private and public sectors. Previous experience in monitoring EU-funded programs is required for this role. The role will report to the Business Development Director and work closely with our Programs Team.

 

This is a role that will provide maternity cover over a 12-month period. This position is open to applicants based in a location with an Impact Hub ideally at a maximum of 4 hours time difference with GMT (this is desired rather than essential).

Job overview

As part of this evolution, we are now seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Impact Measurement Lead. This person should be an impact management professional who shares our ambition to better understand the impact of our translocal programmes and generate valuable data and insights for the future evolution of our programmes portfolio and tell the story of our impact to key stakeholders.

 

Reporting to the Business Development Director and working closely with the Programmes Team team, the successful candidate will enhance our global network experience. This presents an exciting and unique opportunity to join our global mission and help engage our Impact Hub Makers (staff) in various global initiatives.

Location: based in a location with an Impact Hub ideally at a maximum of 4 hours time difference with GMT (this is desired rather than essential).

Job description

Key responsibilities

Impact Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning

  • Lead the impact measurement, evaluation and learning (MEL) agenda of 15-20 trans-local programs including:
    • The development of a Theory of Change considering and contributing to the existing evidence base for specific outcomes
    • Development of results frameworks and quality assurance monitoring tools for program managers and partners
    • Design of data collection methods (e.g. baseline and end-line surveys)
    • Ongoing monitoring of the programme
    • Data collection – e.g. baseline and end-line surveys incl. setting up those tools in coordination with the Data Analyst
    • Data analysis and creation of insights in coordination with the Data Analyst
    • End-of-program evaluation: analysis of surveys, interviews with participants, learning session with managers & participants
    • Writing of concise and compelling reports for a variety of audiences in the public and private sector
  • Coordination with participating Impact Hubs, Programme Managers, partners, and other stakeholders of each program
  • Building Impact Measurement capacity of Impact Hubs participating in the assigned programs
  • Managing our impact measurement tools: e.g. Accelerator App, Zoho Survey, and others

Data Collection from the Network

  • Plan and execute an annual global survey sent to Impact Hubs to collect data about local programmes in coordination with the Programmes team and the Data Analyst
    • Cleaning and analysis of the collected programmes data including follow-up with Impact Hubs
    • Evaluation and review sessions with the Programmes Team
    • Set up a dashboard on Looker Studio
    • Prepare a “State of Programs” presentation in collaboration with the Programmes Team
  • Support the planning and execution of Impact Hub’s annual Global Community Survey
  • Analyze historical network data for communications and business development purposes

Provide input and feedback to funding proposals

  • Work closely with the Business Development Team on selected funding proposals to
    •  Produce/validate historical impact metrics
    • Provide input and feedback to the MEL agenda and budget for future programs

Are we a match?

  • You are already familiar with Impact Hub’s current impact processes OR have previous experience in similar activities/organisations

  • You are passionate about and immersed in relevant topics, developments, and conversations in the field of impact measurement in social enterprise

  • You have solid experience and understanding of the impact measurement field

  • You are a good communicator with the ability to work across all levels in an organisation

  • You possess strong leadership and project management skills

  • You are comfortable interacting with several stakeholders and able to work collaboratively within international, multidisciplinary, and distributed “virtual” teams

  • You have an analytical nature and good use of data skills, as well as excellent user skills in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive…), and have delivered projects with one of the widely used impact measurement tools

  • You happen to have experience with data visualisation and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Google Looker Studio, Tableau)

  • You are open-minded, self-reliant, and excited about being part of a diverse, fast-paced, international environment

  • You are able to demonstrate key components of the Impact Hub approach: entrepreneurship, collaboration, innovation and exceptional execution ability

Contractual summary

  • Legal Form: Independent Contractor if outside of Austria; employment, if based in Austria; if in Europe, VAT registration required.

  • Starting Date: December 16th, 2024

  • Engagement: between 32-40 hours per week with a flexible working schedule

  • Contract length: 12-month contract period; 3 months probationary period. After the first 12 months, a contract extension will be considered based on performance and budget availability.

  • Location: Based in an existing Impact Hub between GMT-4 to GMT+4 time difference.

  • Remuneration: 3,500 – 4,000 EUR monthly at 1 FTE capacity (total cost to company as an independent contractor) commensurate with past experience, and subject to Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) based on number of hours, country of residence, seniority and experience. In the case of lower capacity (0.8 FTE) remuneration will be adjusted pro-rata.

  • Reporting: Direct report to the Global Business Development Director

  • Allowances and other contributions: 30 EUR monthly allowance for use of own equipment; membership and workplace at Impact Hub; other expenses (i.e., phone, etc.) on a needs basis; access to all company systems for work and communication

  • Citizenship/visa: Please note that Impact Hub GmbH will not be able to provide any visa process support. In case you live in a different country than your country of citizenship, you need to have an appropriate employment/independent contractor visa/permit for the respective country to be considered.
