Sustainable Procurement Lab (SUPR Lab)
Catalysing circular transitions & sustainability innovation in Asia-Pacific.
SUPR Lab accelerates the circular economy in Asia by connecting entrepreneurs with circular solutions and corporations to transform value chains.
Accelerating the circular economy in Asia
The transition to a Circular Economy (CE) in Asia requires collaborative approaches that connect innovators, corporations, and policymakers. Impact Hub has been at the forefront of building systemic solutions that reduce waste, reimagine value chains, and foster inclusive growth.
In 2023, Climate Solutions Lab (CSL), a joint programme between Impact Hub and Bank of America, engaged local governments across Asia and resulted in 19 city-level partnerships. This demonstrated the power of linking social innovation with public policy.
In 2024, Impact Hub expanded its efforts through Embedding Circularity. This programme translated and adapted the Circularity Toolkit into four languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese), making knowledge more accessible. Additionally, Peer Development Circles in three markets nurtured communities of circular entrepreneurs, giving Impact Hub deeper insights into both ecosystem-wide and individual challenges.
Introducing SUPR Lab
Launched in 2025, SUPR Lab leverages the relationships and learnings from CSL and Embedding Circularity to bridge the gap between corporate challenge providers and circular social entrepreneurs in Jakarta and Taipei.
The Lab focuses on:
- Tackling systemic challenges faced by corporations through partnerships with innovators.
- Building circular procurement models that reduce waste and reimagine value chains.
- Supporting mission-driven entrepreneurs with funding, capacity-building, and exposure to industry leaders.
Our approach
Through open calls, tailored challenge–solution matching, and dedicated funding and capacity-building, we enable social entrepreneurs to pilot scalable innovations that reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and strengthen the circular economy across Asia.
Open call for corporate partners
Companies are invited to join and identify specific circular challenges.
Challenge-solution matching
Four innovators (two per geography) are carefully scouted to address these challenges.
Financial & capacity support
Each selected innovator receives a solution-tailoring fund and targeted capacity-building to scale pre-market demonstration projects.
Innovation focus areas
- Designing longer-lasting and repairable products.
- Embedding advanced technologies for resource and energy efficiency.
- Integrating waste-capturing innovations that up-cycle materials that would otherwise go to landfill.
