Position summary

The EU Fundraising Specialist, part of the global Business Development team for Public-sector, is an exciting new role covering all facets of EU fundraising work, ranging from proposal writing and donor liaison, to backend administration and communication work, to all other aspects that can support and grow the Impact Hub network’s portfolio of EU successful programmes.

Impact Hub and EU institutional Funds

The European Union is not only the world’s largest donor, it is also the major funder for organisations working in the field of social innovation and social entrepreneurship. Building on several years of engagement and successful fundraising by the EU Cluster, the IH Network is strengthening its commitment to further develop programmes that support social entrepreneurs and innovators across the EU and in other parts of the world where the EU is an active donor.

 

Developing and submitting proposals, facilitating and supporting internal processes and exchanges, strengthening partnerships and working in collaboration with the whole team, the EU Fundraising Specialist will help our network and its members to increase resources and opportunities and further boost our work in support of the Global impact economy.

Job Description: EU Fundraising Specialist 1 FTE

The EU Fundraising Specialist will support IHC’s overall efforts towards EU institutional funds also aligning with the Programmes & Partnerships Operations Manager on approved grants, to smoothly and efficiently plan their implementation. Moreover, he/she will support the EU Development Manager increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the EU proposal submissions process, from monitoring calls and scoping their fit, analysis of the call, partnership development and cultivation, to the, drafting and submission. He/She will also be engaged in the EU Cluster* activities, aligning with the Cluster EU fundraising support and the two elected representatives.*

 

The EU Cluster is an official Impact Hub Network cluster bringing together more than 50 Impact Hubs across the global network that want to work strategically on EU funding opportunities. It coordinates engagement with EU institutional funding, including programmes managed directly by EU institutions and by national agencies, and helps align members’ priorities, identify relevant calls, build partnerships and develop coherent proposals in line with the Impact Hub Network strategy. It is a fundraising and strategic coordination cluster that represents the agreed-upon network pathway for Impact Hubs seeking to participate in EU-funded projects or tenders.

Key Responsibilities

1) Support the drafting and submission of EU funding proposals (0.7 FTE)

  • Oversee the Administrative components of proposals, including all due technicalities and supporting documentation necessary for the successful submission of a proposal.
  • Support the Development Team in drafting proposals and in liaising with internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Assess proposals compliance with IH strategy and reporting requirements
  • Lead the submission process of proposals involving Impact Hub Network and support, when needed, the submission by local IHs for key strategic proposals.
  • Align with the EU Cluster Coordinator and team on EU fundraising priorities, and by exchanging with relevant Impact Hubs for the calls we are working on, and contributing when needed to opportunity scoping, internal updates, documentation and capacity building tasks.


2)
Ensure smooth running of programmes system and operation (0.3 FTE)

  • Prepare and update the pool of ready-to-use resources such as: past experiences, useful resources and text for proposal writing.
  • Support the EU Programmes Lead in the timesheets management for all the team involved in the EU programmes.
  • Upgrade to a user-friendly interface all documentation related to EU Fundraising, including the filing of project submissions, the results and scores.
  • Contribute to the update of the proposal tracker, and other relevant working boards on Impact Hub Company’s Monday space.
  • Prepare the Handover budgets for Zoho projects integration and, when needed, act as account manager for specific EU approved proposals.

Job specification summary

  • Legal Form: Independent Contractor; if in Europe, VAT registration required.
  • Starting Date: July, 2026
  • Engagement: Full-time (1 FTE, 40 hours per week) with a flexible work schedule. We are open to a 0.8 FTE (4-day-per-week) option only for a very experienced profile.The final arrangement will be discussed during the selection process.
  • Contract length: undetermined-period contract; 3-month probationary period.
  • Location: Global, GMT -4 to GMT +4 time zones are preferred. Please be aware that Impact Hub Network team members are distributed globally, and flexibility in the working schedule is expected
  • Remuneration: 3000 – 3800 EUR monthly (total cost to company as an independent contractor), commensurate with experience, and subject to Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) based on country of residence, seniority, and experience at 1.0 FTE
  • Reporting: Direct report to Marina Sarli, EU Development Manager
  • Paid holidays: 25 days of paid time off annually and the local public holidays
  • Allowances and other contributions: 30 EUR monthly allowance for use of own equipment; membership and workplace at Impact Hub; other expenses (i.e., phone, etc.) on a needs basis; access to all company systems for work and communication.
  • Citizenship/visa: Please note that Impact Hub GmbH will not be able to provide any visa or work permit process support. In case you live in a different country than your country of citizenship, you need to have an appropriate employment/independent contractor visa/permit for the respective country to be considered.
