Impact Hub Oakland has always been a lighthouse for driving the inclusion and equality agenda of the Impact Hub Network in North America. After six years of successful operations, we are sad to see Impact Hub Oakland leave the network. The team decided to follow a more hyperlocal approach to deepen their roots and broaden their reach throughout the city continuing their commitment to the evolution of equity and inclusion in Oakland under the name of Evolve Oakland.
Since launching in 2005, the Impact Hub network has undergone significant growth, now reaching over 17,000 members in 100+ locations across the globe. With this growth has also come a stronger focus on programming and trans-local collaboration: tackling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through incubation, acceleration and scaling efforts for social entrepreneurs and innovators from all sectors across North America.
“We’re grateful, and thankful for the love and support the Association and, specifically, the North America Impact Hubs have shown us over the years. Down the road, we look forward to ways we can stay connected through strategic partnerships and future collaborations“, states CEO David Jackson in a letter to the community.
With 10 Impact Hubs, North America remains a key region for the Impact Hub network, and many committed Impact Hub teams throughout the region are continuing to establish multi-city programs around capacity building, convening of stakeholders, entrepreneurial acceleration and scaling for impact ventures.
On behalf of the Impact Hub network, we thank the team of Impact Hub Oakland for their collaboration over the years. We wish them all the very best going forward and look forward to seeing their progress in the near future, finding new ways to collaborate on social impact and entrepreneurship efforts.
