After 6 years of serving the Boulder impact ecosystem and collaborating with the global Impact Hub Network, Impact Hub Boulder LLC closed its doors on December 15th. Impact Hub Boulder joined the network in December 2012 with over 200 startups already signed up to join its local community of changemakers. Backed by nearly 30 investors, Impact Hub Boulder has served hundreds of entrepreneurs and thousands of event attendees throughout its years, inspiring many initiatives, businesses, and conversations at the nexus of impact and business.
With 13 Impact Hubs, North America remains a key region for the Impact Hub network, and many committed Impact Hub teams throughout the region are continuing to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by establishing multi-city programs around capacity building, convening of stakeholders, entrepreneurial acceleration and scaling for impact ventures and innovators from all sectors across North America.
Impact Hub Boulder was one of the locations that hosted Communities for Change, a social change program and incubator that brings together diverse stakeholders across sectors and social divides to build collaborative solutions to local challenges. This type of program is a prime example of trans-local collaboration throughout North America. This particular program ran in Impact Hub Baltimore, Impact Hub Boulder and Impact Hub Seattle along with three other cities across four continents. Next to similar programming efforts, Impact Hubs across the US & Canada are continuing to provide entrepreneurial support to local communities as part of their shared goal of building a better future for all.
On behalf of the Impact Hub network, we thank Impact Hub Boulder and everyone who contributed to building their community. We wish the local team all the very best for their future endeavors in the impact community. The legacy and vision of the Hub will continue through the impact work of its members and business tenants, and the global Impact Hub network. Should other local teams be interested in re-establishing an Impact Hub in Boulder, they can get in contact on Impact Hub’s Maker site.
